In line with its commitment to on-going product development, bpi.visqueen presents Ventisack – an innovative recyclable polythene product which incorporates specific venting requirements to create waterproof but breathable heavy duty sacks. Ventisack was originally developed for the cement market where packaging needs the ability to vent air on high speed packing lines whilst ultimately forming a sack that will prevent water ingress to finished products which are frequently stored outside.
Although developed for the cement industry Ventisack was subsequently found to be of benefit for a wide range of water sensitive goods employing as it does a back seam which acts like a venting system. This allows air to flow freely in and out of the sack but with minimal moisture ingression. As a result, packaged products can breathe more easily and still remain protected from the elements, contributing to a reduction in spoilage and the associated costs.
Ventisack can be printed with up to 4 colours with print coverage of 360o available around the film tube without interruption. As such it eliminates areas of plain white space along the sidewalls allowing customers to maximise presentation opportunities with high impact graphics.
Additionally Ventisack can be embossed to provide an anti-slip measure which enhances pallet stability during both storage and transit. Moreover it can be microperforated as required to suit the goods being packed.
